Interpretation of labor laws in Puerto Rico

The Puerto Rico Department of Labor and Human Resources (DTRH) has issued the first edition of “Guidelines for the Interpretation of Labor Law in Puerto Rico”.

The purpose of these guidelines is to inform the position of the (DTRH) regarding several laws that regulate the employment in the private sector in Puerto Rico, expressed in a briefly, clearly and simply manner.

This first edition of the Guidelines is particularly necessary in view of the amendments introduced by Law 4-2017, Law on Labor Transformation and Flexibility Puerto Rico (Law 4-2017),
