#KevaneTravels: A Grant Thornton LATAM Meetup in Brazil!

Last month, Francisco Luis, our Partner & Head of Tax, assisted an event that gathered Tax practice leaders of Grant Thornton LATAM. This meetup, that took place in Brazil, was an exciting opportunity to network, discuss Tax trends, and to further our collaboration with other GT firms from across the world.

Also, we had insightful conversations with some international clients who benefit from the Grant Thornton services and their experiences.

As we got to share knowledge and trends from our respective firms, some topics revolved around transfer pricing, the latest tax reforms of the region, ESG, and many more.

A key takeaway of the visit to Brazil was the discussion of the newest developments of Pillar Two of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

Furthermore, around 140 countries agreed to enact the two-pillar solution to address the challenges arising from the digitalization of the economy. For the Tax practice, this will impact monumentally as companies will need to ensure they have the data needed to forecast and model in the interim as well as the data to maintain reporting and compliance requirements upon enactment.

On the other hand, Francisco Luis presented the latest tax trends as for the Puerto Rican market and from the Kevane Grant Thornton perspective.

Additionally, our Partner & Head of Tax, discussed the alternatives that a Transfer Pricing study provides, which allows the full deductibility of expenses incurred by local taxpayers with other related parties that are not engaged in trade or business in Puerto Rico.

For us, this #KevaneTravel represents our commitment to continue nurturing our global connections and our eagerness to constantly keep up with the diverse trends of global markets.

Once again, we appreciate GT Brazil for organizing such an amazing meetup!
